Regata delle Bisse and the Bandiera del Lago

The Regata delle Bisse is a traditional rowing competition on Lake Garda. The bisse are historic flat-bottomed boats, once used by fishermen, rowed by four oarsmen standing up in the voga alla veneta style.

It is a series of summer races, usually between June and August, in which crews from the lake towns compete stage by stage. At the end of the season the crew with the best overall result wins the Bandiera del Lago. It is organised by the Lega Bisse del Garda.
