Events in Gaino – Lake Garda

Gaino is the hillside hamlet of Toscolano Maderno, spread across a terrace of olive groves and cypresses that looks out over the lower lake from the Brescia shore. The village's most recognisable feature is its pair of side-by-side churches of San Michele: the medieval "old" one, with a spired bell tower, and the larger 18th-century "new" one, its forecourt facing the water.

Every July the Sagra di Gaino fills the village for several evenings with live music and local food. Outside those days Gaino stays a quiet, residential place away from the lakefront tourism, reached by car up from Maderno; a good starting point for walks through the olive groves and toward the Valle delle Cartiere.
