Events in Moniga – Lake Garda

Moniga del Garda is the birthplace of the "metodo Molmenti", the rosé winemaking technique for Groppello grapes codified in 1896, giving rise to Chiaretto, one of Italy's most celebrated rosés. The park of the medieval castle, open to the public, offers a fine viewpoint over the lake and hosts "Valtenesi in Rosa", the spring event dedicated to the wine.

The historic centre looks onto small beaches and a little harbour, a quieter destination than the Valtenesi's bigger centres; the weekly market is held on Mondays. Moniga is a pleasant visit even in high summer, while spring remains the best time for Chiaretto.
