Events in Polpenazze del Garda – Lake Garda
Polpenazze is a village of just over two thousand people in the Valtenesi hinterland, its economy tied for centuries to vine and olive growing. The centre keeps its frescoes and the walls of what remains of the castle, dismantled in 1420; nearby lies a pile-dwelling site, part of the UNESCO Alpine serial site.
May brings the historic wine fair, while in summer the castle hosts open-air film screenings; the weekly market is held on Saturdays. Since it doesn't sit on the lake, Polpenazze is worth visiting in any season, most memorably in the autumn grape harvest.
