Things to do in Desenzano del Garda
Desenzano is the most populous town on the lake's Lombardy shore and the main gateway from Milan, thanks to the Desenzano-Sirmione railway station on the Milan-Venice line and the A4 motorway exit. The town's heart looks onto the old harbour, watched over by the lake's only lighthouse; the Museo Rambotti holds finds from the lake's earliest settlements, and the surrounding countryside produces Lugana and San Martino della Battaglia wines.
