Events in Desenzano del Garda – Lake Garda
Desenzano is the most populous town on the lake's Lombardy shore and the main gateway from Milan, thanks to the Desenzano-Sirmione railway station on the Milan-Venice line and the A4 motorway exit. The town's heart looks onto the old harbour, watched over by the lake's only lighthouse; the Museo Rambotti holds finds from the lake's earliest settlements, and the surrounding countryside produces Lugana and San Martino della Battaglia wines.
In summer the calendar fills up with Wednesday evening White Nights, closing in early September with the "Luci sul Lago" fireworks; the weekly market is held on Sundays. Low season (April-May, September-October) is quieter, while summer brings the busiest calendar but a more crowded centre.
