Events on Lake Garda

Lake Garda makes three very recognisable wines, one per area. Lugana is a white from the south shore, made from the Turbiana grape. Bardolino, red and rosé Chiaretto, comes from the hills of the Verona shore. The Valtènesi, in the hills behind the Brescia shore, is the home of Groppello Chiaretto.
Many wineries run tastings by appointment all year. Write or call ahead, especially at weekends.
Lugana. A white from the Turbiana grape. The production zone covers Sirmione, Desenzano del Garda, Lonato del Garda and Pozzolengo in Lombardy, and Peschiera del Garda in Veneto.
Bardolino and Chiaretto. A red from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, and its rosé, Chiaretto. Made in the hills of the Verona shore, around Bardolino, Garda and Lazise.
Valtènesi. The hill country behind the Brescia shore, known for Groppello Chiaretto, a rosé.
