Events on Lake Garda

Many of the best things on Lake Garda cost nothing: the lakefront promenades, the public beaches, the old towns of Sirmione, Malcesine and Lazise, the cliff-hugging cycle-and-foot path at Limone.
On the first Sunday of every month, entry is free at all state museums, including the Grotte di Catullo, the Scaliger Castle in Sirmione and the Roman Villa in Desenzano. In summer the calendar is full of festivals, concerts and village fairs with free entry.
Promenades and public beaches. From Salò to Riva, nearly every town has a stretch of lakefront and a public beach.
Old towns and viewpoints. Sirmione, Malcesine, Lazise, the San Zeno di Montagna belvedere, the Rocca di Manerba.
Free museums on the first Sunday. Grotte di Catullo, Scaliger Castle, the Roman Villa in Desenzano.
Free events. Festivals, markets and concerts, all year but mostly in summer.
On the first Sunday of every month, entry is free at all state museums and archaeological parks: on Garda that means the Grotte di Catullo, the Scaliger Castle in Sirmione and the Roman Villa in Desenzano.
Nearly every town has both free public beaches and paid lidos. The free beaches are often gravel; the lidos offer grass, loungers and facilities.
