Events on Lake Garda

Dogs are welcome in many places around Lake Garda, but the rules change by boat, cable car and beach. Here are the ones published by the Trentino tourism board, and what to check before you go.
Beaches are the most variable part: each town sets its own rules, and many lakeside beaches ban dogs. Always look for the sign at the entrance, or ask the town hall.
Ships and catamarans. Your dog must wear a muzzle and be on a lead shorter than 1.5 m, and is accepted if there is space. Under 50 cm at the shoulder travels free; larger dogs pay a reduced fare.
Hydrofoils. Only very small dogs on a lap or in a carrier box are allowed.
Cable cars. Dogs are usually allowed with a muzzle and a lead, but each operator sets its own rules and some charge a fee. Ask the operator first.
Beaches. Rules differ in every town, and many beaches ban dogs. Look for the sign or ask the town hall, and check the hours of any dedicated dog beach.
